Heavy thunderstorms accompanied by localized hail, strong winds, and scorching temperatures are expected on Wednesday and Thursday across several provinces of Morocco, the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) announced. Rainfall ranging between 15 and 25 mm is forecast on Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the provinces of El Hajeb, Ifrane, Boulemane, Sefrou, Taza, Khénifra, Azilal, Beni Mellal, and Midelt, according to an orange-level alert issued by the DGM. In addition, a heatwave is expected to affect many regions on both days, with temperatures ranging between 39°C and 45°C. The heat will impact the provinces of Ouezzane, Larache, Tanger-Assilah, Moulay Yacoub, El Hajeb, Fès, Taza, Taounate, Meknès, Skhirate-Témara, Sidi Slimane, Kénitra, Rabat, Salé, Sidi Kacem, Khemisset, Fquih Ben Salah, Khénifra, Beni Mellal, Khouribga, Mediouna, Nouaceur, Berrechid, Mohammedia, Benslimane, Casablanca, Settat, Youssoufia, Chichaoua, Marrakech, Rehamna, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Zagora, Tata, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Aousserd, and Oued Ed-Dahab, the alert bulletin noted.
