Indian Defence Ministry Temps de lecture: 1' The Indian Navy's newest stealth frigate, INS Tamal, concluded a three-day official visit to Casablanca from August 6 to 9, 2025, during its return voyage to India. Commissioned in Russia on July 1, the vessel is transiting through multiple European and Asian ports to advance maritime diplomacy and strengthen bilateral ties, the Indian Defense Ministry said in an August 10 press release. The stopover featured bilateral meetings with senior Moroccan naval officials, cross-deck visits, sports events, yoga sessions, and cultural exchanges celebrating Indo-Moroccan relations. Upon departure, INS Tamal conducted a Passage Exercise with the Royal Moroccan Navy's Mohammed VI, underscoring the growing defence cooperation between the two nations. «The visit to Casablanca reflects the importance India attaches to its relations with Morocco and its commitment to strengthening the expanding defence cooperation between our countries», the ministry stated. This was the third visit by an Indian naval ship to Casablanca in the past two years. During the visit, Indian Ambassador Sanjay Rana toured the ship, while the crew met senior officers including Rear Admiral Mohamed Tahin.
