A Ryanair flight from Manchester to Agadir was forced to return to the UK on Monday morning, August 25, after a female passenger allegedly attempted to open an emergency exit mid-air. The flight, which departed at 9 a.m., turned back to Manchester Airport less than an hour later after passengers alerted cabin crew to the incident. The disruptive passenger was moved from her seat by the exit, while the captain remained positioned at the door until landing. «She was only able to remove the plastic covering and, as a result, was unsuccessful, as other passengers stopped her and alerted cabin crew, who then informed the captain at around 9:30 a.m.», the airline said in a statement. Upon arrival, Greater Manchester Police boarded the aircraft, removed the woman, and confirmed her arrest. Engineers were then called in to inspect the plane and replace the damaged plastic cover of the door, eyewitnesses told the Manchester Evening News. According to Ryanair, the flight later resumed its journey to Morocco at 11:22 a.m. The airline reiterated its zero-tolerance policy toward unruly passengers, stressing its commitment to ensuring the safety of both crew and travelers.
