The Royal Moroccan Armed Forces (FAR) and United States Africa Command (USAFRICOM) have marked the graduation of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) 3+ Phase 3 course in Kenitra, concluding a multi-year training program launched in 2016. Held from July 14 to August 29, 2025, the final phase combined classroom work, doctrinal development, and live-range training delivered by a joint U.S.-Moroccan instructor team, with support from the U.S. Army Southern European Task Force – Africa, reads a press release Thursday by the US Embassy in Rabat. The program equips Morocco with a sustainable EOD capability aligned with International Mine Action Standards, enabling the FAR to safeguard civilians and infrastructure from explosive remnants of war. It also strengthens Morocco's position as a regional leader in humanitarian demining, complementing U.S. security efforts in Africa. «This graduation represents not just the completion of a course, but the culmination of years of close cooperation, trust, and shared commitment between the United States and Morocco», said LTC James Anderson, Chief of the U.S. Military Group Morocco. «The FAR's EOD personnel are now equipped not only to safeguard their own communities from explosive hazards, but to share this critical capability with regional partners, contributing to greater stability and security across Africa», he added. The FAR's Relief and Rescue Unit will now continue EOD operations and validation, ensuring the long-term impact of this partnership.
