The Royal Moroccan Triathlon Federation (FRMTRI) and Madaëf Sports & Events (MSE) are set to host the African Triathlon Cup – Taghazout Bay 2025 and the final of the Moroccan National Age Group Championship on September 20–21, 2025, at Taghazout Bay. Nearly 100 athletes from more than 25 countries are expected to compete, with Morocco fielding a strong double representation. According to the organizers, competitors will take on a course in the heart of Taghazout Bay, covering the three triathlon disciplines: a 750 m swim, a 20 km cycle, and a 5 km run. On Saturday, September 20, the eve of the African Cup, the final of the Moroccan National Age Group Championship will be held, giving Moroccan amateur and youth triathletes the chance to compete over the Olympic distance. The race will feature a 1.5 km swim, a 40 km cycling circuit, and a 10 km run, in what organizers describe as both a competitive and friendly atmosphere. Bringing the African Cup to Taghazout Bay underscores Morocco's growing role as a host of high-level international triathlon competitions. It follows the successful Moulay El Hassan Triathlon World Cup held last June in Saïdia Mediterrania by FRMTRI and MSE. The 2025 edition, organizers add, «will showcase Taghazout Bay as a new stop on the African triathlon circuit, reinforcing its already established reputation as a sports tourism destination for surfing, bodyboarding, and golf». The event will also open up Tawenza Square to both athletes and the public, creating a space for interaction between sports enthusiasts and visitors.
