The Regional Judicial Police Department in Beni Mellal opened a judicial investigation on Thursday, September 25, under the supervision of the competent public prosecution, into the suspected involvement of a police officer and an inspector in a case of extortion and bribery in exchange for neglecting their official duties. The two officers were apprehended after a complaint was filed by two citizens, leading to the arrest of one of them while caught in the act of receiving the illicit payment. Both officers have been placed in custody pending further investigation to determine all the circumstances of the case. At the same time, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) has decided to suspend them from duty in line with administrative procedures.
