As anticipation builds for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, football fans from across the continent, and beyond, are rushing to book their seats for Africa's biggest sporting event, set to take place from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, across nine stadiums in six cities. France leads the ticket sales outside Africa with over 109,000 tickets sold in the first two phases, followed by Belgium (7,046) and the Netherlands (5,958), CAF unveiled on Friday. The UK, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, the U.S., Spain, and Italy also feature in the top ten. Many of these fans are believed to be Moroccans living abroad, eager to experience the tournament in their homeland. AFCON 2025 marks Morocco's first hosting of the competition since 1988, a milestone that coincides with the country's growing reputation as a football and tourism hub, and its upcoming co-hosting of the 2030 FIFA World Cup. Supporters are urged to complete their Fan ID registration via the Yalla App before the next ticketing phase opens. The digital ID grants access to stadiums, fan zones, and visa facilitation, ensuring a smooth experience for international visitors.
