In a daring escape, six migrants, including three underage girls, swam from Fnideq to Ceuta in the past few hours. Spanish security sources revealed that the group seized the opportunity provided by poor weather conditions to swim towards the Tarajal border beach. Upon reaching the shore, authorities discovered that three of the swimmers were minors. The Ceuta authorities have announced that the three girls will be taken into care and placed under the supervision of the local government. This comes as part of broader efforts, with 61 Moroccan minors already relocated to other regions in Spain to alleviate the city's burden. According to Spanish media, Ceuta is currently grappling with the presence of 495 migrant minors, a staggering 510% over its capacity. Since the beginning of the year, nearly 700 minors have arrived, compared to 820 during the same period in 2024. Approximately 75% of these minors are housed in temporary emergency centers, as the main facility, La Esperanza, is at full capacity.
