For the first time, the Dutch Federation of the Tourism Industry (ANVR) is holding its annual congress in Morocco, from 13 to 16 November 2025, in Rabat. Organized in partnership with the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT), the event brings together more than 220 Dutch tourism decision-makers, offering a major opportunity to position Rabat as a leading destination for Benelux travelers. Held under the theme «Connecting», the three-day congress gathers top players in the travel sector, including tour operator executives, airlines, financial institutions, insurance groups, media, and academics. Co-organized by the ONMT, the event serves as an exceptional showcase for Morocco, fostering exchanges and new commercial synergies, it said in a press release. «By hosting ANVR 2025, Morocco asserts its place among major global tourist destinations. It is a strategic step to strengthen our presence in the Dutch market and a source of pride to see Rabat, the City of Light and cultural capital, become a meeting point for Europe's travel leaders», said Achraf Fayda, Director General of the ONMT. The congress comes at a favorable moment: by the end of August 2025, arrivals from the Benelux region recorded strong growth, with an 11% increase in Belgian visitors and a 14% rise in Dutch tourists compared to 2024. On the sidelines of the event, Transavia inaugurated a new Amsterdam–Rabat direct route on Thursday, 13 November 2025. Operated twice a week (Thursdays and Sundays), the connection strengthens Rabat's position as an ideal destination for short stays and business travel, while facilitating combined visits to northern and central cities such as Tangier, Chefchaouen, Fez, and Meknes.
