The mascot for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 is ready. Just days before the highly anticipated tournament, Assad was officially unveiled by CAF and Morocco's Local Organising Committee. Inspired by the Atlas Lion, one of Morocco's most powerful national symbols, Assad's name, meaning «lion» in Arabic, reflects the strength, pride, and cultural identity at the heart of the competition, CAF said on Monday. Designed as a friendly, youthful lion, Assad will lead fan engagement across stadiums, fan zones, community events, and digital platforms, helping create a strong emotional connection with supporters, especially children and families. Beyond AFCON 2025, Assad will remain a long-term ambassador for African football, taking part in CAF grassroots programmes, youth initiatives, and future storytelling projects.
