DR ‹ › Acting on the instructions of King Mohammed VI, the government has launched a rehabilitation programme for areas affected by the exceptional floods that struck the city of Safi on Sunday, December 14, leaving 37 people dead and dozens injured. According to a statement from the Head of Government's Department, the program adopts a comprehensive approach aimed at ensuring a rapid and effective response to the needs of affected populations. It includes a series of urgent measures to immediately mitigate the impact of the disaster, notably the provision of emergency assistance to families who lost personal belongings, the repair of damaged homes, and the reconstruction, restoration, and renovation of affected commercial premises. Business owners will also receive support, in line with the royal guidelines seeking to preserve citizens' dignity, guarantee decent living conditions, and strengthen resilience. In this context, the necessary human and logistical resources have been mobilised, alongside strengthened coordination among all concerned stakeholders. Local authorities are expected to begin implementing the planned measures without delay, ensuring swift and efficient action and a prompt response to the needs of flood victims, while securing the sound and gradual execution of the programme's various components.
