DR ‹ › French carmaker Renault Group has set a new electric efficiency benchmark in Morocco with its Filante Record 2025 demo car. On December 18, the vehicle covered 1,008 kilometers in under 10 hours, averaging 102 km/h, without recharging, on the UTAC Ceram test track in Oued Zem. The Moroccan test, conducted by three Alpine test drivers over nearly ten hours, provided what Renault described as «valuable data» gathered under stable and controlled conditions, according to Renault. Equipped with an 87 kWh battery, comparable in capacity to that of the Scenic E-Tech Electric, the Filante Record 2025 was not designed to chase top speed, but to push the limits of energy efficiency under near-highway driving conditions, writes Renault Group on its website. At the end of the run in Morocco, the battery still retained 11% charge, enough for more than 120 additional kilometers at speeds exceeding 100 km/h. Developed as a rolling laboratory, the demo car was built in collaboration with Ligier and Michelin. It features ultra-low rolling-resistance tires, advanced aerodynamics, lightweight carbon and composite materials, and a total vehicle weight of around 1,000 kg. Technical innovations include steer-by-wire and brake-by-wire systems, along with a redesigned battery integration aimed at optimizing weight distribution and reducing energy losses.
