DR ‹ › The Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 will be «the toughest edition to win» in the competition's history, Morocco head coach Walid Regragui said on Thursday in Rabat. «Everyone is benefiting from excellent hosting conditions and training pitches. Whoever wins this AFCON will truly deserve it», Regragui told reporters at the pre-match press conference ahead of Morocco vs Mali, scheduled for Friday at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, in Group A's second round. He stressed that Morocco's supporters remain a major asset, while noting that top-quality pitches and hotels are available to all teams. «All national teams are enjoying the same conditions», he said. «We are counting on Moroccan fans to support us until the end. We want to feel the fire in the stadiums», Regragui added. Cautioning against complacency, the coach underlined that matches are not decided early. «You don't win games at halftime. A match lasts 90 minutes», he said, emphasizing that the priority is to win while showing consistency and confidence. Regragui also looked back at Morocco's opening 2–0 win over Comoros, noting that the team delivered a strong performance despite missing a penalty. "With the Atlas Lions, expectations are higher than for other teams," he concluded.
