DR ‹ › The General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) has issued a warning for locally intense thunderstorms, snowfall, and strong winds expected to hit various Moroccan provinces this Sunday and Monday. In an orange-level alert bulletin, the DGM forecasts heavy thunderstorms with rainfall between 30-50 mm from Sunday noon until Monday at 10 AM. The affected provinces include Kenitra, Sidi Kacem, Ouezzane, Sidi Slimane, Taounate, Ifrane, Al Hoceima, Beni Mellal, Taza, Khenifra, Chefchaouen, Tangier-Assilah, and Larache. Rainfall ranging from 15 to 25 mm is also anticipated in the provinces of Sidi Bennour, El Jadida, Skhirate-Temara, Sale, Rabat, Khemisset, Fahs-Anjra, Mohammadia, Mediouna, Nouaceur, Azilal, Rehamna, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Khouribga, Berrechid, Benslimane, Tetouan, Mdiq-Fnideq, Moulay Yacoub, El Hajeb, Meknes, Settat, Casablanca, and Fquih Ben Salah during the same timeframe. Snowfall is expected above 1,500 meters, with accumulations between 10 and 30 cm, from Sunday noon to Monday at 10 AM in the provinces of Azilal, Midelt, Ouarzazate, Ifrane, Al Haouz, Boulemane, Khenifra, Chichaoua, Taroudant, Chefchaouen, Al Hoceima, Beni Mellal, and Tinghir. Moreover, strong wind gusts of 70 to 75 km/h are predicted on Sunday from noon until 11 PM in the provinces of Ifrane, Beni Mellal, Tinghir, Taroudant, Sefrou, Khenifra, Midelt, and Ouarzazate.
