DR ‹ › Heavy rainfall, snowfall, and strong gusts of wind are expected on Friday and Saturday across several provinces of Morocco, according to the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM). In a red-level alert bulletin, the DGM said that heavy rainfall of 80 to 120 mm, mainly over mountainous areas, is forecast from Friday at 5:00 p.m. to Saturday at 11:00 p.m. in the provinces of Agadir Ida-Outanane, Taroudant, and Essaouira. In an orange-level alert, the DGM also warned differents provinces of heavy rainfall ranging from 30 to 45 mm, expected from Friday at 5:00 p.m. to Saturday at 6:00 p.m. in Safi, Sidi Bennour, El Jadida, Chtouka Ait Baha, Inezgane-Ait Melloul, Tiznit, Chichaoua, Al Haouz, and Youssoufia. The same weather conditions, with rainfall totals of 25 to 35 mm, are expected to affect Rehamna, Settat, and Marrakech on Saturday from midnight to 10:00 a.m. Meanwhile, snowfall of 20 to 50 cm is forecast above 1,600 meters from Friday at 9:00 p.m. to Saturday at 6:00 p.m. in the provinces of Midelt, Tinghir, Azilal, Ouarzazate, Al Haouz, Taroudant, and Chichaoua. The DGM also warned of strong gusts of wind ranging from 95 to 105 km/h, expected from Friday at 11:30 a.m. to Saturday at noon in Al Haouz and Chichaoua. Gusts of 90 to 100 km/h are forecast in El Jadida, Sidi Bennour, Safi, Essaouira, Midelt, and Azilal, while winds of 75 to 90 km/h will affect Youssoufia, Figuig, Jerada, Oujda-Angad, Taourirt, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Marrakech, Rehamna, Agadir Ida-Outanane, Taroudant, Boulemane, Guercif, and Berkane. Finally, gusts of 75 to 90 km/h are expected from Friday at 9:00 p.m. to Saturday at 6:00 a.m. in Rabat, Skhirate-Témara, Nouaceur, Casablanca, Médiouna, Berrechid, Mohammedia, Benslimane, and Settat, and again on Saturday from noon to 8:00 p.m. in El Jadida, Sidi Bennour, Safi, Essaouira, Chichaoua, Berrechid, Al Haouz, Figuig, and Ouarzazate.
