DR ‹ › Heavy rainfall, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms, snowfall, cold conditions and strong wind gusts are forecast from Monday through Thursday in several provinces across the Kingdom, according to the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM). The DGM has issued an orange-level weather alert, warning that 35 to 55 mm of rain, occasionally thundery, are expected from Monday at 12:00 p.m. until Tuesday at 3:00 a.m. in the provinces of Azilal, Khénifra, Béni Mellal and Al Haouz. During the same period, rainfall totals of 25 to 35 mm are forecast for Tiznit, Oujda-Angad, Youssoufia, Al Hoceima, Nador, Driouch, Berkane, Safi, Essaouira, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Chichaoua, Khouribga, Khemisset, Fquih Ben Salah, El Hajeb, Sefrou, Taza, Guelmim, Sidi Ifni and Taroudant. The bulletin also forecasts snowfall of 20 to 50 cm above 1,200 meters, expected from Monday at 12:00 p.m. until Tuesday at 11:00 p.m., affecting Ifrane, Boulemane, Khénifra, Al Haouz, Tinghir, Taroudant, Ouarzazate, Midelt, Azilal and Béni Mellal. In addition, 5 to 15 cm of snow above 900 meters are expected from Tuesday at 6:00 a.m. until Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. in Taza, Chichaoua, Figuig, Driouch, Jerada, Taourirt, Sefrou, Al Hoceima and Guercif. Cold to locally very cold conditions are also forecast, with temperatures ranging between -10°C and -4°C from Tuesday to Thursday in Tinghir, Al Haouz, Azilal, Béni Mellal, Ifrane, Midelt and Boulemane. Temperatures between -4°C and 0°C are expected during the same period in Jerada, Taourirt, Khénifra, Sefrou, Al Hoceima, Guercif, Taza, Chefchaouen, Figuig, Chichaoua, Taroudant and Ouarzazate. Finally, strong wind gusts of 75 to 85 km/h are forecast from Tuesday at 6:00 a.m. until Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. in Boulemane, Midelt, Nador, Jerada, Figuig, Driouch, Al Haouz, Tiznit, Tinghir, Taroudant, Sidi Ifni, Ouarzazate and Guelmim.
