DR ‹ › The French international, Wissam Ben Yedder, has inked a six-month deal with Casablanca's Wydad Athletic Club (WAC), joining fellow stars Hakim Ziyech and Nordin Amrabat in Morocco's top league. As reported by L'Equipe on Tuesday, the former Monaco striker, now 35, has an option to extend his contract by a year and has made significant financial concessions to join the Moroccan side. Following the conclusion of his stint with Monaco in the summer of 2024, Ben Yedder briefly played for Sepahan SC in the Iranian league, making six appearances and scoring one goal. By September, he had moved to Sakaryaspor in Turkey's second division, where he notched up 14 appearances and five goals. On the international stage, Ben Yedder began his career in futsal (2008-2010) before progressing to football through youth selections. Between 2018 and 2022, the Franco-Tunisian forward earned 19 caps and scored three goals for the French senior team, participating in Euro 2020 and clinching the Nations League title in 2021. Off the pitch, L'Equipe highlights that Ben Yedder, alongside his brother, faced charges in the Alpes-Maritimes criminal court for «rape, attempted rape, and sexual assault», a ruling he is contesting. In a separate case, the Nice court in September 2025 found him guilty of psychological violence against his wife.
