The team recently advanced to the final match of the Africa Cup of Nations. During this occasion, the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Fouzi Lekjaa, along with national team coach Walid Regragui and team members, were introduced to His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid before posing for a commemorative photograph. This reception underscores the exceptional dedication that His Majesty the King consistently shows towards youth development, particularly through sports, highlighting his special focus on the sports sector and football in particular. Following the final match against Senegal, King Mohammed VI sent a congratulatory message to the national team. In his message, he emphasized that the Atlas Lions have shown through their remarkable journey in the Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 that «perseverance, seriousness, and team spirit are the keys to success, and you have set an example for the world of what Moroccan and African youth can achieve when they are empowered with confidence in their talents and abilities.» The King's message further stated, «Through your calm and honorable heroic performance, you have highlighted the significance of our strategic vision in investing in human resources and modernizing the Kingdom's infrastructure, which has proven its strength and global readiness in anticipation of hosting the 2030 World Cup.»
