DR ‹ › Morocco's General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) has forecast heavy rainfall with a risk of hail, snowfall, strong stormy winds, and cold temperatures from Saturday through Monday across several regions of the Kingdom. In an updated orange-level weather alert, the DGM said that heavy rainfall ranging between 20 and 30 mm, with a risk of hail, is expected in the provinces of Settat, Khouribga, Benslimane, Khémisset, Taza, Taounate, Sefrou, and Moulay Yacoub, from midday Saturday until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. The same weather phenomenon is expected to intensify in Azilal and Beni Mellal, where rainfall amounts could reach 30 to 40 mm over the same period. Even heavier rainfall—between 50 and 80 mm—is forecast in Tangier-Assilah, M'Diq-Fnideq, Chefchaouen, Fahs-Anjra, Ouezzane, Tetouan, and Larache, from 3:00 a.m. on Sunday until 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The DGM also expects snowfall starting at elevations above 1,200 meters, with accumulations of 20 to 50 cm in Al Haouz, Azilal, Beni Mellal, Ifrane, Khénifra, Midelt, Guercif, Ouarzazate, Tinghir, Sefrou, Taza, and Boulemane. Lighter snowfall of 10 to 20 cm is forecast in Taroudant, Chefchaouen, Chichaoua, Taourirt, Al Hoceima, and Figuig. Snowfall is expected from midday Saturday until midday Sunday. In addition, strong stormy winds, with gusts ranging from 75 to 85 km/h, are expected in Figuig, Azilal, Ifrane, Tinghir, Benslimane, Berrechid, Jerada, Casablanca, Mediouna, Mohammedia, Nouaceur, Rabat–Salé, Temara–Skhirate, Beni Mellal, Ouarzazate, Boulemane, Midelt, Al Haouz, Taroudant, Guelmim, Sidi Ifni, Tiznit, and Kenitra from midday Saturday until 11:00 p.m. The same wind conditions are expected in Nador, Figuig, Taourirt, Guercif, and Jerada from midnight through 10:00 p.m. on Sunday. Finally, the DGM warned of very cold temperatures, ranging between -3°C and -8°C, expected on Saturday and Sunday in the provinces of Midelt, Boulemane, Taza, Guercif, Sefrou, Ouarzazate, Taroudant, Tinghir, Al Haouz, Azilal, Beni Mellal, Ifrane, Khénifra, and Chichaoua.
