DR ‹ › The Regional Academy of Education and Training (AREF) for the Tangier–Tetouan–Al Hoceima region has called on its counterparts in Rabat–Salé–Kénitra, Casablanca–Settat, and Fes–Meknes to temporarily accommodate students displaced from Ksar El Kebir and other areas affected by the recent floods, in order to ensure continuity in their education. The request was made through official correspondence sent on February 2, 2026, to the directors of the concerned regional academies, in light of the exceptional situation facing the Tangier–Tetouan–Al Hoceima region, particularly the city of Ksar El Kebir. Recent weather disturbances led to widespread flooding, resulting in the suspension of classes for a full week, the complete evacuation of the city, and the displacement of a large number of families to other cities both within and outside the region. In its correspondence, the academy stressed that the measure is intended to safeguard students' right to education and allow them to continue their studies in safe and appropriate conditions, while ensuring pedagogical continuity during this exceptional period. The Tangier–Tetouan–Al Hoceima Regional Academy further urged that displaced students be temporarily enrolled in both public and private educational institutions under the supervision of the receiving academies, until conditions stabilize and families are able to return to their places of residence.
