DR ‹ › Several regional directorates of the Ministry of National Education, Early Childhood Education, and Sports have announced a temporary suspension of classes next week due to anticipated weather disturbances. The regional directorate in Tangier-Asilah confirmed an exceptional suspension of classes in all public and private educational institutions across the province on Monday, February 2, noting that the situation will be reassessed based on weather developments. In Tetouan, the regional directorate stated that, in light of the warning bulletin forecasting heavy rainfall and given the condition of local rivers and the province's mountainous terrain, classes will be suspended in all public and private institutions on Monday, February 2. A similar decision was announced by the Al Hoceima regional directorate for the same date. In Larache, authorities decided to suspend classes throughout the week, from Monday, February 2 to Saturday, February 7, in all public and private educational institutions located in the Ksar El-Kebir municipality. Distance learning will be put in place to compensate for the disrupted lessons. The Chefchaouen regional directorate also announced the suspension of classes in all public and private institutions on Monday, February 2, and Tuesday, February 3. In Ouezzane, the regional directorate specified that, due to expected weather disturbances, classes will be suspended on the same two days in all rural educational institutions across the province. In M'diq–Fnideq, classes will be temporarily suspended on Monday, February 2, in educational institutions located in the territorial communities of Al-Aliyin and Belyounesh. The decision also includes an exceptional suspension at Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq School, Al-Massira Al-Khadra Secondary School in the Bouzagl neighborhood of M'diq, and Tariq bin Ziyad School in Fnideq. The regional directorate said it will continue to closely monitor weather conditions in coordination with local vigilance committees to ensure the safety of students as well as educational and administrative staff. In Fahs-Anjra, the regional directorate called on school principals to strictly apply the preventive measures decided by local vigilance cells regarding the suspension, or continuation, of classes on Monday, February 2, and Tuesday, February 3. Meanwhile, educational authorities in the Kenitra and Sidi Kacem provinces announced a temporary and exceptional suspension of classes starting Monday, February 2, 2026, until further notice. The measure affects several rural and urban communities impacted by adverse weather conditions, including Souk El Tlet El Gharb, Sidi Allal Tazi, Mekren, Bni Mansour, Mnasra, and Oulad Salama in Kenitra province, as well as Tekna, Bir Taleb, El Marabih, Taouguelt, Khnichat, Belksiri, Nouirat, Hawafate, Safsaf, Sidi Kamel, Ramila, Dar El Aslouji, and Dar El Kdari in Sidi Kacem province.
