DR ‹ › A cold wave, heavy rain with a risk of thunderstorms, and snowfall are expected to affect several provinces across Morocco from Thursday to Sunday, according to the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM). In an orange-level weather alert, the agency forecasts a cold wave with temperatures ranging between -9°C and -4°C from Friday to Sunday in the provinces of Ouarzazate, Taroudant, Tinghir, Al Haouz, Chichaoua, Azilal, Béni Mellal, Ifrane, Khénifra, Midelt, Boulemane, Sefrou, Guercif, and Taza. The DGM also warned of heavy rainfall (30–50 mm) with possible thunderstorms from Friday at 6:00 a.m. to Saturday at 6:00 a.m. in the provinces of Chefchaouen, Tangier-Assilah, Taounate, Al Hoceima, M'diq-Fnideq, Tetouan, Ouezzane, Larache, Fahs-Anjra, and Taza. Finally, snowfall of 15 to 30 cm above 1,400 meters is expected from Thursday at 12:30 p.m. until Saturday at 6:00 a.m. in the provinces of Midelt, Boulemane, Sefrou, Al Hoceima, Guercif, Taza, Chefchaouen, Ifrane, and Khénifra, the meteorological service added.
