DR ‹ › The Directorate General of Meteorology has issued an orange-level weather alert, forecasting snowfall, thunderstorms and locally strong winds across several regions of the kingdom on Tuesday and Wednesday. According to the alert, snowfall is expected at elevations above 2,000 meters, with accumulations ranging between 10 and 20 cm in the provinces of Ouarzazate, Tinghir, Al Haouz, Azilal and Midelt. The snowfall is expected to begin at midday on Tuesday and continue until 9 a.m. on Wednesday. The agency also forecasts locally heavy thunderstorms, with possible hail (30 to 40 mm), in Assa-Zag and Smara on Tuesday from midday to 9 p.m. Similar conditions are expected in Al Haouz, Tinghir, Zagora, Ouarzazate, Errachidia, Taroudant and Tata from 5 p.m. on Tuesday until 9 a.m. on Wednesday. Strong winds, with speeds ranging from 75 to 85 km/h, are also expected to affect Al Haouz, Ouarzazate, Azilal, Chichaoua and Taroudant on Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., as well as Essaouira, Chichaoua and Al Haouz on Wednesday from midday to 9 p.m.
