DR ‹ › Morocco's General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) has forecast heavy thunderstorms, possible hail, snowfall above 1,400 meters, and strong wind gusts for today, Wednesday, and tomorrow, Thursday, across several regions of the Kingdom. In an orange-level weather alert, the directorate said thunderstorms bringing between 30 and 60 mm of rainfall are expected in the provinces of Safi, Sidi Bennour, and El Jadida. Rainfall ranging from 20 to 30 mm is also forecast in Fahs Anjra, Tangier-Asilah, Tetouan, M'diq-Fnideq, Larache, Chefchaouen, Rehamna, Essaouira, Youssoufia, Chichaoua, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Driouch, Oujda-Angad, Taza, Guercif, Al Hoceima, Moulay Yacoub, Taourirt, and Berkane. These conditions are expected today, Wednesday, from 11:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Heavier rainfall, ranging between 30 and 65 mm, is forecast in Beni Mellal, Al Haouz, and Azilal from 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday until noon on Thursday. Snowfall is also expected above 1,400 meters. Accumulations of 25 to 40 cm are forecast in Azilal, Tinghir, Ouarzazate, and Al Haouz, while 15 to 25 cm are expected in Midelt, Beni Mellal, Ifrane, Khenifra, Taroudant, and Chichaoua. Snowfall will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday and continue until noon on Thursday. The directorate added that strong wind gusts, reaching between 75 and 85 km/h, are expected in Tinghir and Ouarzazate from 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday until noon on Thursday.
