DR ‹ › Marrakech-Ménara Airport has been named Best Regional Airport in Africa at the 2026 World Airport Awards, held on March 18 in London during the PTE World event. The distinction, awarded for the first time to Marrakech by Skytrax, reflects growing passenger satisfaction with the quality of services offered at Moroccan airports. This recognition comes as part of the transformation led by the National Airports Office (ONDA) under its «Airports 2030» strategy, which focuses on improving passenger experience, operational efficiency, and infrastructure modernization across the national airport network, ONDA says in a press release. According to ONDA, the progress achieved by Marrakech-Ménara in Skytrax's global satisfaction survey highlights the tangible impact of reforms carried out in coordination with several stakeholders, including the Ministry of Interior, the General Directorate of National Security, the Royal Gendarmerie, Customs and Indirect Taxes Administration, local authorities in Marrakech, and the Ministry of Transport and Logistics. Established in 1999, the World Airport Awards are among the most prestigious distinctions in the global airport industry. Winners are selected based on the world's largest passenger satisfaction survey, covering more than 565 airports and relying on feedback from travelers of over 100 nationalities between August 2025 and early February 2026.
