DR DR ‹ › The Indian Navy's sail training ship INS Sudarshini docked in Casablanca on April 15 as part of its transoceanic deployment under the Lokayan 26 mission. The port call forms part of India's efforts to strengthen maritime engagement and reflects growing naval cooperation with Morocco, the Ministry of Defence of India said in a statement on Thursday. Upon arrival, the ship's commanding officer held talks with senior officials of the Royal Moroccan Navy, including Commander Hassan Akouli and Commander Omar Nasri, focusing on expanding cooperation and training exchanges. During its three-day stay, the crew engaged with Moroccan naval personnel, hosted official visits on board, and took part in professional and cultural activities aimed at reinforcing bilateral ties and goodwill. The visit follows a series of recent Indian naval port calls to Casablanca, involving ships such as INS Tabar, INS Tarkash, INS Sumedha, and INS Tushil, as well as a visit by the inspector of the Royal Moroccan Navy to India in November 2025.
