DR ‹ › Abdeltif Loudyi, Morocco's Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of National Defense Administration, and Lieutenant General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and Commander of the Southern Zone, were received by U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth during the 14th meeting of the Morocco–U.S. Defense Consultative Committee, held in Washington from April 14 to 16, 2026. The meeting, attended by Morocco's ambassador to Washington, Youssef Amrani, and the U.S. ambassador to Rabat, Duke Buchan III, featured in-depth discussions on strengthening and elevating bilateral relations, particularly in the areas of defense, defense industry, and cybersecurity. On this occasion, both sides welcomed the longstanding and exemplary ties underpinning the strength of the historic alliance between the Kingdom of Morocco and the United States, driven by the sustained commitments of the two countries' highest authorities under the leadership of their respective heads of state. The visit also provided an opportunity for the Moroccan delegation to commend the U.S. position supporting Morocco's full sovereignty over its Sahara, while highlighting the Kingdom's ongoing efforts as a committed actor for regional peace and security, promoting stability and prosperity at both regional and international levels.
