The 7th edition of the Moroccan World Trophies (TMM) took place Saturday evening in Marrakech, celebrating the achievements of Moroccans living abroad who have made a significant impact in various fields. Organized by the TMM Foundation, the event aims to showcase the talents of the diaspora and strengthen the bonds between Moroccan communities worldwide and their homeland. Eighteen finalists competed in six categories. The «Scientific Research» Trophy was awarded to Mimoun Azzouz, a neuroscience specialist at the University of Sheffield, for his work on degenerative diseases. Filmmaker Said Hamich Benlarbi was recognized in the «Art and Culture» category, while kickboxer Tarik Khbabez was honored for his sporting achievements. In politics, Nora Achahbar, former State Secretary in the Netherlands, was commended for her commitment to social justice. Mohamed El Mazzouji was awarded for his associative work, and entrepreneur Mostapha Lassik was recognized for his contribution to digital services in the public sector. The jury, which included writer Fouad Laroui, journalist Amale Daoud, and former boxer Nordine Oubaali, also paid a heartfelt tribute to Souad Talsi, a long-time advocate for women's rights in the United Kingdom. Alongside the TMM, the first Economic Forum of Moroccans Worldwide was held, focusing on investment. The goal was to highlight the economic contributions of the diaspora and explore development opportunities through their projects in various regions of Morocco.
