The General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) has appointed Ali Belhaj, President of Hippone Holding, as head of the Morocco–UK Business Council. The decision was made at the board meeting on September 15, CGEM announced in a press release on Tuesday. A graduate of the University of Southern California, Belhaj began his career with the Compagnie Financière d'Investissement before expanding into logistics, real estate, and agriculture. He also served as President of the Oriental Region, Vice-President of R20, and deputy for Dar Bouazza, roles that «contributed actively to territorial development and investment attractiveness», CGEM noted. Within CGEM, Belhaj chaired the Sub-Commission for the Promotion of Ethics, reaffirming his belief in «responsible business conduct». Internationally, he is a former World Economic Forum «Global Leader of Tomorrow» and a member of the Global Development Network and New York's Foreign Policy Association. By this nomination, says CGEM, «Ali Belhaj brings his experience, international network, and strategic vision to strengthen economic and trade relations between Morocco and the United Kingdom», fostering bilateral exchanges and sustainable partnerships.
