For the first time, six Moroccan students from the French International High School Alphonse Daudet in Casablanca took part in the Drone Soccer World Cup, held in Jeonju, South Korea, in September 2025, according to a statement from the school received by Yabiladi. At just 14 years old, these students were among the youngest competitors at the event, which included players well into their thirties. The Moroccan team secured an impressive victory over Japan and is now preparing for key matches against the United States, Thailand, and host nation South Korea, three of the tournament's strongest teams. Their participation was made possible after official qualification by the Moroccan Drone Soccer Federation, with support from the International Federation, underscoring Morocco's growing involvement in this emerging sport, which originated in South Korea and blends cutting-edge technology with teamwork. This initiative also forms part of an educational approach rooted in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STIAM). It provides young people with the chance to build skills in drone piloting and electronics, foster teamwork and strategy, and explore innovation and career opportunities in technology and space.
