Last night, the Israeli army intercepted more than twenty boats from the Global Sumud Flotilla as they sailed toward the besieged Gaza Strip, which continues to endure a devastating war that has left thousands dead and wounded. The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that those detained from the fleet will be transferred to Israel ahead of their deportation to Europe. Among them are six Moroccans: Aziz Ghali, Ayoub Habraoui, Younes Ait Yassine, Abdeladim Ben Deraoui, Youssef Ghallal, and Yassine Lefrm. Despite the Israeli army's intervention, other ships in the fleet, delayed in their departure from several European ports due to technical malfunctions, are preparing to continue their voyage toward Gaza. The interception has drawn sharp international condemnation. Spain's Foreign Ministry summoned the Israeli chargé d'affaires in Madrid, while the UK Foreign Office voiced its «grave concern». Brazil denounced the Israeli action, calling it a violation of the rights of the peaceful activists on board. Elsewhere, Pakistan's Prime Minister condemned the operation as a «vile act», and Malaysia's Prime Minister said he would seek the intervention of Middle Eastern countries and the United States to secure the release of Malaysian nationals detained by Israel.
