Italia Marittima, a subsidiary of Evergreen, has launched a new maritime container service linking Morocco and Spain as part of the North Africa–Western Mediterranean (NAFR) route. The service operates via the SPX 1 line run by X-Press Feeders between Spain and Portugal. The first voyage began on 22 November with the vessel Perseus, which has a capacity of 660 TEUs, departing from the port of Valencia. Evergreen now benefits from cargo slots on the route connecting Valencia, Casablanca, and Barcelona, before the vessel returns to Valencia. The SPX 1 line has been upgraded with a revised schedule that adds a third stop in Casablanca and repeating calls at both Valencia and Barcelona. This extends the full rotation cycle from three to four weeks. To maintain weekly departures, X-Press Feeders plans to deploy a fourth vessel, Carla (750 TEUs), starting its rotation from Barcelona on 29 November. The updated route now runs on a four-week cycle with four vessels in service, each with a capacity ranging from 660 to 700 TEUs.
