DR ‹ › Significant resources have been mobilized to assist populations affected by the cold wave across 28 prefectures and provinces, covering 243 communes and 2,018 localities and villages. According to data from the Ministry of the Interior, 1,482 localities, representing 73.4% of the total, are located at altitudes between 1,500 and 2,499 meters, while 29 localities (1.4%) lie above 2,500 meters. As part of the response effort, authorities are providing monitoring and support to vulnerable groups, including 665 homeless individuals, 2,790 pregnant women, and 18,722 elderly people. In terms of assistance, plans are in place to distribute around 4,540 tonnes of firewood and 10,421 improved stoves, in coordination with the National Agency for Water and Forests (ANEF), as well as the ministries of National Education, Preschool and Sports, and Health and Social Protection. In addition, 1,024 snow-clearing vehicles are being mobilized in coordination with the Ministry of Equipment and Water and pre-positioned along exposed road networks to ensure rapid intervention and prevent communities from becoming isolated.
