DR ‹ › During the press conference following the historic triumph of Morocco's A' national team, Abderrazak Hamdallah, who delivered a standout performance in the Arab Cup final against Jordan by scoring the decisive goal, announced his retirement from international football. Responding to a question after the Atlas Lions' coronation, Hamdallah said: «This was my last international match with the Moroccan national team». «I am very happy with this title, which I see as a form of redemption after several difficult years with the national team», he added. «Years during which I hoped to be called up, to be recognised, and to show that I could bring added value to the squad», he said, referring to past tensions with the national side. «It came late, but it finally happened, and that is what matters most. Thank God», he concluded. It is worth noting that Hamdallah currently plays for Saudi Pro League club Al-Shabab. His international career has been marked by recurring difficulties, notably his 2019 withdrawal from the national team amid reported internal tensions and a strained relationship with then-coach Hervé Renard, episodes that long complicated his place within the squad.
