DR ‹ › Heavy rain, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms, snowfall starting at 1,600 meters, and strong wind gusts are expected on Tuesday and Wednesday in several provinces across Morocco, the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) announced. According to a red-level weather alert, heavy rainfall ranging between 100 and 150 mm is forecast from Tuesday at noon until Wednesday at 11:00 p.m. in the provinces of Chefchaouen and Tetouan. Under an orange-level alert, rainfall totals of 60 to 100 mm are expected over the same period in M'Diq-Fnideq, Tangier-Assilah, Ouezzane, Larache, Fahs-Anjra, Al Hoceima, and Taounate. The DGM also forecasts rainfall of 30 to 40 mm on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. in Khenifra and Ifrane, and 35 to 50 mm from Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. to Wednesday at noon in Kenitra and Taza. Snowfall accumulations of 10 to 30 cm, starting at elevations above 1,600 meters, are expected from Tuesday at noon until Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. in the provinces of Sefrou, Boulemane, Taza, Guercif, Ifrane, Midelt, and Beni Mellal. Strong wind gusts of 75 to 85 km/h are also forecast on Tuesday from noon to 11:00 p.m. in Boulemane, Taza, Sefrou, Ifrane, Tinghir, Figuig, Jerada, Tata, Ouarzazate, and Midelt. Additionally, stronger winds of 75 to 90 km/h are expected from Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. until Wednesday at 11:00 p.m. across a wide range of provinces, including M'Diq-Fnideq, Tetouan, Tangier-Assilah, Ouezzane, Larache, Fahs-Anjra, Chefchaouen, Taza, Taounate, Guercif, Al Hoceima, Moulay Yacoub, Sefrou, Fez, Boulemane, Midelt, Ifrane, El Hajeb, Meknes, Khemisset, Taourirt, Oujda-Angad, Nador, Jerada, Figuig, Driouch, Berkane, Sidi Slimane, Kenitra, Sidi Kacem, Tinghir, Ouarzazate, and Tata. Authorities urge citizens to remain vigilant and follow official safety recommendations.
