DR ‹ › Authorities in the M'diq-Fnideq prefecture have launched a series of measures to support the schooling of children displaced from Ksar El Kebir following floods along the Loukkos River, while assisting their families relocated to temporary shelters in the prefecture. The initiative, carried out in coordination with local authorities, civil society, and government departments, focuses on ensuring children's access to education and meeting their basic needs despite temporary displacement. It follows a call by the Regional Academy of Education and Training of Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima inviting public and private schools to temporarily enroll students from flood-affected areas. As part of the effort, the Moroccan League for the Protection of Children (LMPE) in M'diq-Fnideq delivered in-kind aid and school supplies to affected families. According to LMPE regional coordinator Ikram Bouchnita, the assistance aims to ensure continuity of schooling and ease the psychological impact of displacement. She added that the Mediterranean Child Center in M'diq has also been opened to host 11 families, including 30 school-aged children, who have since been enrolled in local schools with educational and psychological support. Provincial education authorities said all necessary measures have been taken to integrate displaced pupils into schools across the prefecture and ensure the availability of school places as in-person classes resume.
