DR ‹ › Provincial directorates of National Education, Preschool Education, and Sports in the provinces of Tetouan, Ouezzane, and Al Hoceima announced on Monday that the temporary suspension of classes will be extended until Wednesday, while in-person classes will resume on Tuesday in schools across the Tangier–Assilah prefecture. The provincial directorate in Tangier–Assilah said that, following recommendations from the provincial monitoring committee and in coordination with local authorities, it was decided to resume in-person classes in all public and private schools in the prefecture on February 3, noting that the situation may be reassessed depending on weather developments. In Tetouan, the provincial directorate stated that, given the weather alert forecasting heavy rainfall, the condition of local rivers, and the province's mountainous terrain, classes in all public and private schools will remain suspended on February 3 and 4, in line with the monitoring committee's recommendations. In Ouezzane, authorities announced that due to ongoing weather disturbances and rising water levels in several rivers and streams, classes will also be suspended on February 3 and 4 in all urban and rural schools across the province. Similarly, the Al Hoceima provincial directorate decided to extend the suspension of classes on February 3 and 4 as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students, teaching and administrative staff, as well as boarding school residents. It is worth recalling that in Larache province, classes remain suspended from February 2 to 7 in all public and private schools in the municipality of Ksar El Kebir, with distance learning activated to make up for missed lessons. In Chefchaouen, classes were suspended on February 2 and 3 in all schools, with authorities indicating that updates will depend on weather conditions. Meanwhile, in M'diq–Fnideq, classes were temporarily suspended on February 2 in several communes and specific schools. In Fahs-Anjra, school directors were urged to implement precautionary measures in coordination with local monitoring committees and partners.
