The list, unveiled on Thursday, includes Jalal Jayed as a match referee, Mostafa Akardad and Zakaria Brinsi as assistant referees, and Hamza El Fariq as a video match official. In total, FIFA has selected 170 match officials for the tournament, set to take place this summer in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. The group includes 52 referees, 88 assistant referees, and 30 video match officials, representing all six confederations and 50 member associations. They were chosen following a three-year evaluation process based on the quality and consistency of their performances at the highest levels of international and domestic competitions, FIFA said. Morocco has been drawn into Group C of the 2026 World Cup, alongside Scotland, Brazil, and Haiti. The Atlas Lions will face Brazil in their opening group-stage match on June 13 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Morocco will then take on Scotland on June 19 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, near Boston, before concluding the group stage against Haiti on June 24 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.
