DR ‹ › The Professional Association of Wholesale Liquid Gas Depot Owners in Morocco has called off its planned work stoppage set for April 21 and 22. This decision follows what has been described as a "fruitful" meeting with Fouzi Lekjaa, the Minister Delegate in charge of the budget. Ahmed Mada, the association's spokesperson, informed Yabiladi that the cancellation came after an agreement to increase the distributors' profit margin by 30 dirhams per ton, a figure unchanged since 2016. He hailed this development as a significant achievement, showcasing the government's attentiveness to the demands of industry professionals. He further explained that the meeting also resulted in concrete solutions to several longstanding issues, particularly those related to the sector's organizational and professional challenges. Following these developments, the association confirmed in a statement received by our site that it has withdrawn its protest action. The statement highlighted that the discussions with the authorities were conducted in a positive atmosphere, yielding practical results that could enhance the working conditions for industry professionals. Earlier, the Professional Association of Wholesale Liquid Gas Depot Owners in Morocco had announced plans to suspend gas distribution for 48 hours on April 21 and 22. This move was in protest against what it perceived as the authorities' neglect of their demands, amid rising costs and a prolonged freeze on profit margins. The association had cautioned that the situation could have led to an extended distribution halt.
