DR ‹ › Yamil Bukele, president of the Salvadoran Football Federation, has announced changes to his national team's schedule for the upcoming international break in June, confirming that the friendly match against Morocco has been canceled. According to Bukele, the Salvadoran Federation received an official letter from the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) explaining that the domestic competition calendar, combined with injuries to several key players, would prevent Morocco from assembling a full squad for the trip to the United States. The letter stated that, by the scheduled departure date of May 29, the Moroccan team would be without at least a third of the players intended to be presented to FIFA, making it impractical to travel with an incomplete squad. As a result, the FRMF informed its Salvadoran counterpart that it would be unable to play the match in Washington, D.C. The Moroccan federation proposed an alternative, offering to cover travel and accommodation costs in order to reschedule the match for June 2 in Rabat instead of the United States. However, the Salvadoran Federation declined the proposal. Bukele explained that, under FIFA regulations, matches cannot be played on two different continents during the same international break. He added that the technical staff had already planned two friendlies in the United States during that period, making it impossible to adjust the schedule and travel to Morocco.
