A heatwave is expected from Tuesday to next Friday in several provinces across the Kingdom, with temperatures ranging between 40°C and 47°C, the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) has announced. According to a level-orange weather alert bulletin issued by the DGM, temperatures between 44°C and 47°C are forecast from Tuesday to Friday in the provinces of Errachidia, Zagora, Taroudant, Tata, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Oued Eddahab, and Aousserd. Similarly, temperatures ranging from 40°C to 44°C are expected from Tuesday to Thursday in the provinces of Beni Mellal, Fquih Ben Salah, Meknes, Khénifra, Fez, Moulay Yaacoub, Taounate, Taza, Ouezzane, Guelmim, Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, Inezgane-Ait Melloul, Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane, Benslimane, Khouribga, Settat, Chichaoua, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Essaouira, Marrakech, Rehamna, Khemisset, Sidi Bennour, and Youssoufia. In addition, heavy thunderstorms (15–30 mm), locally intense with hail and strong gusts of wind, are forecast on Tuesday between 2:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. in Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Guelmim, and Tan-Tan.
