The Pakistan–Morocco Parliamentary Friendship Group met on Monday at the Pakistani Parliament House, reaffirming Morocco's commitment to strengthening bilateral ties through parliamentary diplomacy, institutional collaboration, and people-to-people connectivity. The session, chaired by Senator Bilal Ahmed Khan, was attended by Morocco's Ambassador Mohamed Karmoune, senior Moroccan officials, and members of the Pakistani Senate. In his remarks, Ambassador Karmoune underscored Morocco's determination to advance relations with Pakistan. He called for a balanced trade relationship, encouraging greater imports from Pakistan, and raised concerns over visa difficulties faced by Moroccan nationals, requesting reciprocal facilitation. Karmoune highlighted that Morocco has already introduced an e-visa system for Pakistanis. Discussions also touched on broadening cooperation in education, health, trade, agriculture, tourism, sports, cultural exchange, and defence training. Senator Faisal Saleem Rahman proposed a bilateral tourism agreement and scholarships for Pakistani students, while Advisor to the Senate Chairman Misbah Khar emphasized the importance of institutional collaboration within bilateral and constitutional frameworks. The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to deepen ties through regular exchanges, practical initiatives, and enhanced cooperation, with Morocco emphasizing that parliamentary diplomacy can serve as a strong foundation for long-term partnership.
