The traveling exhibition «Belgica Biladi: A Belgian-Moroccan Story» will be held from September 22 to 30, 2025, at Mohammed VI Square in Al Hoceïma, marking its final stop in Morocco. After previous showings in Nador and Saïdia, the event, organized by the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME), will open with a reception on September 22 at 6 p.m. Created to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the labor agreement signed between Morocco and Belgium, the exhibition retraces a century of migration, from the first Moroccan workers who arrived after World War I to the present day, according to a press release received by Yabiladi. It celebrates the contributions of different generations across literature, theater, cinema, media, politics, and civic life. The organizers note that the exhibition, initiated by the Free University of Brussels (ULB) in partnership with the City of Brussels, has been made possible in Al Hoceïma with support from the province and municipality, the provincial delegation of culture, the Miramar Association for Culture and Sustainable Development, the Association of Moroccans of the Balearic Islands Al Maghrib, the Rif Association for Press and Media, and the Circle of Belgian Laureates (CLB). As part of the commemoration, the first edition of the Cultural Days will take place on September 22 and 23, initiated by the Miramar Association. This year's theme, «When Culture Becomes the Memory of Diasporas», will bring together authors, researchers, journalists, and community leaders from Morocco and Belgium. Three conference-debates are scheduled under this framework: «Rif and Migrations», «Women's Literature: Inhabiting the World», and «Writing the Rif». A guided tour is also planned at the mausoleum of Sidi Chaïb Ouneftah in Temsamane, described as a «symbolic site of the collective memory of the Rif, deeply rooted in the oral, musical, and ritual traditions of the eastern Rif».
