The Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi, has been on a working visit to the United Arab Emirates since Tuesday, September 23, accompanied by a security delegation. The visit is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation in policing and security. According to a statement from the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), Hammouchi met with Talal Rashid Al Zaabi, Director of the Emirati State Security Service, along with senior Emirati security officials. The talks covered a range of issues of mutual interest and included bilateral consultations. Discussions focused on international and regional security challenges, particularly the risks posed by terrorism and extremism in conflict zones worldwide, including the Sahel. The meeting also explored ways to step up operational cooperation between Morocco and the UAE to confront threats linked to terrorism and transnational organized crime. This includes boosting mechanisms for joint security operations, which have already proven effective as tools for international cooperation. The two sides further agreed to deepen and diversify bilateral cooperation, with an emphasis on sharing expertise and experience across all security fields. They also highlighted the importance of strengthening coordination and information exchange to ensure a proactive and decisive response to hostile acts threatening the security of both nations.
