Five members of the same family tragically drowned in a water basin on a farm in the village of Ouled Abdoun, in Khouribga province, on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, November 12. The incident prompted the intervention of local authorities and civil protection units, who worked late into the night. According to Ahmed Nabti, regional director of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection in Khouribga, the accident occurred around midnight when four members of one family and a fifth relative fell into the farm's water tank under still unclear circumstances. Eyewitnesses reported that the father was the first to fall into the basin while attempting to clean it of mud. His children, followed by his wife and a relative, tried to rescue him, but all tragically drowned. Civil protection teams later retrieved the bodies and transported them to the morgue at the Khouribga Regional Hospital, pending instructions from the public prosecutor's office.
