Since its creation, the Marrakech International Film Festival (FIFM) «has established itself as a place of dialogue and discovery, a space where cultures intersect and talents emerge», said Prince Moulay Rachid, president of the Festival Foundation. In a message published on the official FIFM website ahead of the 22nd edition, held from November 28 to December 6, 2025, the prince stressed that «in just over two decades, the Festival has put Morocco on the map of major international film events», with a strong focus on new cinematic voices. This commitment is reinforced through the expansion of the Atlas Programs, the Atlas Workshops, Atlas Station, Atlas Distribution, and Atlas Press, reflecting the Foundation's dedication to supporting a new generation of filmmakers. The prince noted that the Atlas Workshops have become a key platform for emerging talents from Morocco, the Arab world, and across Africa. The 2025 edition also introduces the Atlas Distribution Meetings, which will bring together around sixty industry professionals. This year, the Festival will pay tribute to four exceptional figures: Moroccan actress Raouia, whose career reflects the vitality of the national scene; American actress Jodie Foster, an icon of world cinema; Egyptian actor Hussein Fahmy, a legend of Arab cinema; Mexican filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, a visionary master of contemporary storytelling. The Jury, chaired by Korean director Bong Joon Ho, embodies the artistic rigor and cultural diversity that define the Festival. In addition, the signature «Conversations» continue to serve as a cherished space for exchange and closeness between audiences and leading figures in cinema. Recalling that FIFM 2025 opens «in a world in motion, where cinema remains an essential landmark», the prince expressed hope that this edition will strengthen «our ability to meet, to engage in dialogue, and to build together a more just, more united, and more enlightened world».
