DR ‹ › The Criminal Court in Ceuta has ordered the deportation of a young Moroccan man after he served two-thirds of a three-and-a-half-year prison sentence. He is also banned from entering Spanish territory for five years, following his conviction for aggravated theft with violence. The court further ruled that he must pay the victim €175 in civil damages, as well as a one-month fine calculated at €5 per day, according to Spanish media reports. The case dates back to the night of November 19, when the defendant and several unidentified accomplices confronted the victim after midnight, demanding his mobile phone and any cash he had on him. When the victim refused, the group assaulted him and stole €25 before fleeing. The attack left the victim with traumatic inflammation in his right wrist, requiring medical treatment.
