DR ‹ › In the Canary Islands, groups linked to the Polisario Front are preparing to launch a «human rights observation mission» in Western Sahara on Tuesday, January 13. The delegation is expected to include Noemí Santana Perera, a Podemos MP in Spain's lower house of parliament. Recently, the lawmaker sounded the alarm to Spanish authorities about a potential «new Moroccan Green March aimed at annexing the Canary Islands». She also criticized the main right-wing parties, the People's Party (PP) and Vox, accusing them of «failing to defend Spain» and «backing those who aim to fragment it, while Morocco aligns with Trump to secure military backing and control over foreign resources». Noemí Santana Perera further argued that by supporting the arrest of Nicolas Maduro, «the People's Party (PP) and Vox undermine the legal framework that safeguards us as an archipelago» from Morocco's purported ambitions. It is not uncommon for Moroccan authorities to expel foreigners from Western Sahara who present themselves as «human rights observers».
