DR ‹ › The Moroccan Parliament will host the fifth session of the Moroccan-French Parliamentary Forum on January 29 and 30. According to a parliamentary statement, the session will be co-chaired on the Moroccan side by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami, and the Speaker of the House of Councillors, Mohamed Ould Rachid. On the French side, it will be chaired by the President of the Senate, Gérard Larcher, and the President of the National Assembly, Yaël Braun-Pivet. The statement noted that the forum's programme includes four thematic sessions bringing together parliamentarians from both countries to discuss key strategic issues. The first session will focus on «New Horizons for Bilateral Cooperation», followed by a second dedicated to «Security, Counterterrorism, and Organized Crime». The third session will address «Women's Rights and Participation in Public Life», while the fourth will explore «Energy Transition and Renewable Energies». These sessions will feature the participation of several Moroccan ministers and senior officials from the relevant sectors. The forum will also be marked by intensive diplomatic activity and bilateral discussions between the two sides. A high-level French parliamentary delegation, comprising members of both the Senate and the National Assembly, is expected to attend. The session will conclude with the adoption of a final statement outlining the outcomes of the discussions. The Moroccan-French Parliamentary Forum has established a solid record of institutional dialogue since its inaugural session in Rabat in 2013, followed by meetings in Paris in 2015, Rabat in 2018, and Paris again in 2019.
