DR ‹ › Abdelmalek Essaâdi University announced on Sunday that it will suspend classes starting February 2 due to anticipated weather disruptions. In a statement, the university's presidency said it had decided to postpone all educational and scientific activities from February 2 until weather conditions improve, in order to ensure the safety of students, teaching staff, and administrative personnel. The decision follows a weather alert issued on Sunday by the General Directorate of Meteorology, which forecast heavy rainfall in the Tanger–Tétouan–Al Hoceïma region. It is also in line with recommendations from regional monitoring units, the statement added. According to the university presidency, the suspension applies to all academic activities, including classes, conferences, thesis defenses, and scientific symposiums, as well as administrative and educational services, across all university institutions located in Tétouan, Tangier, Al Hoceïma, Larache, and Ksar El Kébir. The university said it will continue to closely monitor weather conditions and will update its decision in accordance with developments and the guidance of provincial monitoring committees.
